Hello.

It started the way anything worth mentioning does. It started with music. In Spartanburg, South Carolina, when I thought that no one else would understand my passion, I met Kyle. It began with the random invitation to share a night filled with wonderfully horrible punk bands and late night sandwiches. I did not know at that first show we were creating a lifelong friendship. I did know however, that what brought us together was the music. It always does. Nine years later, we are still the best of friends.

We are now on separate coasts pursuing our dreams. I am a writer in Los Angeles, and Kyle is producing local bands in Spartanburg. Both of us are working to make our dreams come true because there is nothing else that we can do. Our hearts are taken by our art.

Until the first night at that show with Kyle, I felt like no one understood my passion for art. I felt like maybe no one was supposed to, and then he did. Since then, I have found an amazing collective of friends that inspire me each and every day. We inspire and motivate each other even when we do not realize it.

The Penguin Project is a labor of love with the hope to share my passion of my art and my journey in Los Angeles with you. I believe that by supporting each other completely in our art, we can reach more people together. In doing so, I hope to bring awareness to other writers, musicians, artists, actors, and basically anyone else that makes my heart want to explode. This is The Penguin Project. Thank you for being a part of the journey.

Amanda
